Emergency lights are used wherever we need to illuminate the designation of the escape route. It can be an emergency lighting of a given space as such or an emergency illumination of so-called pictograms that indicate the direction of leakage. Emergency lighting is divided into purely emergency (marked SE or N (English not-maintained)) which provides light only when the el. networks or permanent (referred to as SA or M (English maintained)), where the emergency lights are constantly on. Their permanent light in normal operation can be controlled by a switch to only illuminate when using the space where they are installed. Possibilities of equipment are, for example, the installation of electronics, which have the so-called Autotest, when the luminaire itself checks the status of its internal battery, light source and charging current. The most common are these fluorescent lamps, but they can be in more and more used designs with LED light sources.
